JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position works closely with both the scientists and customers for aerogel business development activities and technical writing support, including:
- Develop and maintain customer business relationships within DoD, DOE, or other government agencies.
- Work closely with program managers and scientists to articulate commercialization paths for ongoing and proposed contract research efforts.
- Identify and follow opportunities for contract research business.
- Work with scientists to prepare technical reports for customers on government contract research efforts.
- Compile technical dossiers relating to aerogel products and product development.
- Prepare research and development proposals, including SBIRs, BAAs, and others; editing technical input as well as compiling background and marketing information to sell the concept to the customer.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates MUST have a demonstrated understanding of the various proposal systems used by relevant government agencies
- US Citizenship required
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other scientific discipline preferred
- 5 or more years business development or program management experience preferred

Order Fulfillment Specialist/Customer Service Rep - Northborough, MA
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Order Fulfillment Specialist receives and enters customer orders into Oracle, ensuring completeness of information for supply chain processing to make sure shipments are executed to meet agreed customer expectations.
Additionally, the Order Fulfillment Specialist interfaces with the Sales team to: clarify order requirements; resolve order issues; provide information on order status; interface with customers; and to receive inquiries & distribute inquiry information to appropriate Aspen departments as necessary.
- Enter Customer orders completely and accurately into the Oracle system. Generate and distribute order confirmations as required/ requested by Customers or the Sales team. Maintain open orders in Oracle with status or reschedule dates.
- Obtain scheduled fulfillment dates from Supply Chain and communicate shipping dates to the Sales team, and/or directly to Customers.
- Maintain communications with Customers and the Sales team regarding open order status, including timely notification of any changes to scheduled ship dates or material availability.
- Execute Customer order release for shipment process, including: order booking, material reservations, pick slip generation and distribution to shipping. Coordinate shipments with Logistics and assist in resolving material conflicts or shipping issues.
- Create and maintain Oracle Customer master data files, price lists, order templates, and other related data. Generate procedures and work instruction documents as required for training or ISO/SOX compliance.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED, associate or bachelor degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a prior related position.
- Past position in domestic and international customer service, supply chain planning, or logistics.
- Professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, strong writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and Customers.
- Ability to effectively mediate conflicts and negotiate resolution.
- Experience utilizing an enterprise planning system (e.g.: SAP, Oracle), proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).

Production Team Member
JOB DESCRIPTION:
May be assigned to Northborough, MA or East Providence, RI facility. Day (6am-6pm) or Night (6pm-6am) Shift. Shifts rotate 4 days on, 4 days off.
The Production Team Member will work in a self-directed environment with teammates and will become proficient in the following major duties in accordance with Company work instructions, procedures, and policies.
- Observe and follow all safety procedures and practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Operate the equipment and manage processes according to process specifications and the ISO control plan.
- Record all necessary production/process data on Production Traveler documents and enter data into Oracle database when required.
- Perform material handling duties to include: receiving and processing raw materials for production; moving WIP and delivering finished goods; disposing of waste materials
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Use Company Intranet communication and empowerment tools.
- Assist with equipment installation as directed by engineering personnel.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience in a chemical plant a plus.
- Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English.
- Must be computer-literate.
- Must be able to lift loads of up to 50 lbs.
